The realm
Rules of the realm
One account, one person, played honestly. Everything below follows from that. These rules bind every world and are enforced by the staff; playing here is agreeing to them.
1One account
- One person plays one account. A second account, however it is named or paid for, is grounds for both being closed.
- An account belongs to the person who registered it. Do not sell it, trade it, buy one, or hand it to somebody else to keep.
- Two people may not share an account. If more than one person needs access to a village, use the sitting system rather than a shared password.
- Two accounts must not be played from the same connection without telling support first. Households and shared networks are allowed, but tell us before you start, not after a report.
2Sitting and holidays
- A sitter may keep an account running. A sitter may not use it to gain ground for their own: no attacks, no support, no resources moving from the sat account to the sitter or their tribe.
- A sitter and the account holder must not be in conflict with each other, and must not both act on the same battle.
- Holiday mode is for being away. Entering it to escape an incoming attack, and leaving it as soon as the attack lands, is an abuse of it.
3Playing by hand
- Play through the game as it is served to you. Scripts, bots, macros, auto-clickers and anything that acts while you are away are not allowed.
- Tools that only read - a calculator, a map you keep yourself, a spreadsheet - are fine. Anything that sends a request for you is not.
- Do not automate account creation, and do not run the game through a service that plays it on your behalf.
4Bugs and exploits
- If you find a fault that gives an advantage, report it. Using it is cheating whether or not you found it first.
- Telling other players how to use a fault is the same offence as using it.
- Reporting a fault promptly and in full is taken into account if you had already gained from it before you understood what it was.
5How you speak to people
- Argue with the play, not the person. Insults, slurs, threats and sustained harassment end accounts.
- Nothing from outside the game belongs in it: no real names, addresses, workplaces, photographs or anything else about a player that they did not choose to publish here.
- Do not impersonate staff, and do not claim a decision came from us when it did not.
- Village names, tribe names, profiles and messages are all covered by this. So is anything you link to.
6Money
- Nothing in this game may be exchanged for real money outside it. Not accounts, not villages, not resources, not premium.
- Premium is bought from us and from nobody else.
- Advertising another game, service or site to players here is not allowed without asking first.
7Enforcement
- Breaking a rule costs a warning, a ban, or the account, depending on what was done and whether it was done again.
- A ban applies to the person, not only to the account. Registering again to get around one is itself a reason to be banned.
- You may appeal any decision through support. Say what happened and what you think we got wrong; we will tell you what we found.
- Staff decisions are made by people and are not always right. Argue them through support rather than in public, and they will be looked at again.
Not everything can be written down in advance. Where a rule does not reach, staff decide by what these rules are plainly for: a realm where a win means somebody actually earned it.
Anything unclear, or anything you need to report, goes to support.
